The US equivalent is called FRS (Family Radio Service) with 14
channels, and 1/2 watt max, no license.
There is also GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) which requires a
no-test license, and allows more power (although very few units go
over 2W). 7 frequencies are identical to some of the FRS frequencies,
pluse 8-GMRS only ones.
None of these frequencies match the Australian UHF CB ones.
